According to the Q2 Digital Market Index report published by Sensor Tower, in the second quarter of 2025, App Store and Google Play had an increase of 0.7 per cent, to $19.8 billion, over the same period of income from in-house purchases (IAP). Of this, IOS game revenues increased slightly by between 0.16 and 12.51 million dollars, while Android game revenues grew by between 1.7 and 72.28 billion dollars.

Global mobile game downloads declined by 6.8 to 12.8 billion over the same period, with the Google Play channel accounting for 86 per cent. Google Play downloads declined between 7.7 and 10.95 billion times, while App Store downloads decreased between 1.6 and 1.85 billion times.

The strategic-type game, with $4.75 billion in in-house revenue, became the most gold-absorption category in the quarter (23 per cent over the same period), going beyond income to $3.62 billion in RPG (12 per cent over the same period). The top three categories of downloads account for 60 per cent of the total: analogue games lead 2,580 million downloads (6 per cent decrease over the same period), street machines 2.530 billion (3 per cent decrease over the same period) and decryption 2,522 million (1 per cent decrease over the same period).

The top five of the single-product income list are ” Last War Survival ” , ” Royal Match ” , ” Monopoly Go ” and ” Glory to the King ” ; the download volume Top5 is ” Block Blast ” , ” Garena Free Fire ” , ” Subway Surfers ” and ” Ludo King ” .

Although revenue from the IAP remained modest, the decline in downloads indicated a stabilization of the market. Global game downloads declined by 6 per cent to 49.6 billion in 2024, a trend that continued in Q2 in 2025. Google Play ‘ s downloading advantage has benefited from its broad user base in Asian and Latin American markets, but Android users spend lower IAPs, reflecting regional income disparities. High IAP revenues from iOS come mainly from the United States (29.8 per cent globally) and Japan (14.8 per cent), while the iOS market in China contributes 20 per cent.
